A Carefully Thought-Out Bariatric Product
We were so pleased with how the Vanguard Bariatric Wheelchair allowed us to provide a way to get our resident out of bed and provided a way for her to be upright and to participate in many facility activities which she couldn’t safely do in her standard bariatric wheelchair. By using the removable armrests, our staff was able to use a mechanical lift to safely transfer the resident without injury. Several staff members commented on how the tracking brake feature allowed them to propel the wheelchair safely in a straight path with decreased stress on their bodies. The manual foot pump also allowed staff to position the resident comfortably for upright sitting activities with minimal stress. Overall we were very pleased with the features and performance of this wheelchair and would choose it again. Thank you for creating such a carefully thought-out product!
No Problems with Skin Integrity After Broda
We have not had any skin breakdown with our residents in the Broda Tilt Recliner chairs since we started using them four years ago. We attribute this to the design of the straps allowing for moisture wicking as well as the ability to easily position the chair in a tilt and/or recline position for pressure relief.
Our Patients Love the Bariatric Options
We’ve experienced a recent demand for bariatric care products. The Broda Revive Bariatric Shower Chair is exactly what we needed for our patients. It is a safe and comfortable seating system that is able to accommodate a weight of up to 800 lbs. The transition from bed to chair allows for ease in transfers due to the tilt in space/recline feature. The shower chair also doubles as a commode, so pts. don’t have to make two separate transfers. The strapping material and frame of the model makes for ease in cleaning also. Our patients love the chair!
A Sturdy & Reliable Wheelchair for My Dad
My dad had dementia accompanied by a gradual loss of motor abilities. We cared for him at home, but he couldn’t sit upright and he was scooting and sliding out of his standard wheelchair. The tilt feature and high back helped his posture and the full range of motion (sitting to reclining) greatly helped prevent bed sores. The tilt feature also made it easy to shave him and brush his teeth. Whenever he was out of bed, he was in his Broda chair. It was sturdy, reliable, and worked wonderfully.
Broda Kept My Wife Comfortable
My wife was in a nursing home for more than 5 years battling with Alzheimer’s. During her last years, she couldn’t move or get in/out of bed…As a result of her condition, she needed a very comfortable wheelchair. I checked with Medicare and they only covered stiff, straight-up, non-padded wheelchairs. My wife’s caring facility got her a Broda…which I paid a monthly fee for rental. After less than a year, I decided to purchase the wheelchair for my wife to keep her comfortable. During her last year, she was very comfortable in her padded Broda Midline Chair. Comfort for a Veteran & His Family
At the age of 82, my father had advanced Parkinson’s and dementia. His power wheel chair was taken away for safety concerns. In a fortunate twist of fate, he qualified for the VA to fund a Broda wheelchair. This wheelchair has improved his quality of life and I can’t imagine him not being in it over the past few years. We are fortunate that the VA will fund Broda chairs for veterans like him who need them.
Happier & More Comfortable than Ever
We are currently using an Elite Positioning Wheelchair for a resident with Huntington’s Disease. We were very concerned about his safety and comfort until we tried the Broda wheelchair. Now, he is happier and more comfortable than we have ever seen him. We are very pleased with how much the Broda chairs help. We also recently purchased a Broda Pedal Chair and a Glider. Both of these have also helped improve the quality of life for our residents.
